Hi WESST!

I hope everyone’s had both a productive and relaxing summer. Here’s a bit of an update what’s happening at the end of the summer:

1. WESST Online Meeting

This is an opportunity for everyone meet before the start of classes. Please respond to the online Doodle Poll to state your availability for our next SKYPE meeting by Monday, August 31st at the latest.

2. WESST Website is live

Thanks to much effort throughout the entire summer, the new WESST website (www.wesst.ca) has gone live. Check it out, as future updates will be published both through the external mailing lists as well as through the website. There is now a mobile version optimized for smart phones such as iPhones, Blackberries, and Android too. As always, please let me know if there are any other suggestions you would like to see in terms of functionality or content by the website, or if you notice any bugs at all.

3. Website Account info

Each school, as well as the Retreat and WEC chairs, should have received account information, so that they may each post their own relevant external information to the WESST website in addition to the WESST link emails. Anyone may register as a subscriber, too. Please let me know if you have trouble accessing your account.

4. Publications

There is now a page for Engineering Publications, as suggested by the Publications WESST EM workshop. This is so that we may provide a method to share our works, as well as provide submission contacts for each engineering school. Each school should have the contact information of their publication’s editor by the online meeting, so that I may start assembling the gallery.
